Although I'm French I will write it in english so everybody understands. Although we Jews are truly horrified by what is happening in Austria, I definitely think there is a certain amount of hypocrisis in the reactions we see in the world around us. The ones who say they are shocked by the extreme right coming to power in Austria are the ones who said 50 years ago "we did not know" and "never again". Well... As we know, it did happen again while they did know it was happening. How many years did it take them to realize that the serbian butcher Milosevic wanted to wipe away a whole people and to do something fo it ? Well, he did not actually claim to be a Nazi, but what's the difference ? Did'nt Saddam Hussain make use of gaz chambers against iranian prisoners ? What about Tchetchenia ? The same did not raise a finger on June 5th 1967, when 2 billions worth of weapons was to be fired on Israel less than 1/4 of a century after the holocaust. Remember, a few years ago, how President Chirac harshly behaved during his visit in Israel after having so friendly greeted Hafez el Assad who protected Alois Brunner. Most Arab governemnts we jews are asked to live in peace with, actually are anti-democratic, repressive, criminal against various minorities (Sudan, Syria, Libya, tunisia, Iran, Irak, Pakistan ... the list goes on....) They all behave like Nazis while not claiming to be so. Some of them have offered huge financial support to the cursed negationnist Roger Garaudy. By the way, in most of these countries you just can't connect to the Internet. I personnaly do not taste that sort of selective way of condemning. We jews do know that although our blood is not more red that any other blood, the nazi project is matched by no other criminal project in history either by the size or by the underlying spirit. But to my opinion the seemingly offended democrats have a long way to go in actually showing their sincerity until I believe them. I apologize for any bad feeling I may have aroused.
