I would like to hear from anyone who may have attended the Lycée Francais with me during the early 50's: I lived in Heliopolis with my sister Denise and my brother Isaac. My father is Jacques Azerad and my mother is Sara Azerad. Regards- Liliane

After the name Romaniotes, they use to call all the Jews that their mother tongue was greek, and where settled in the nowdays Greece ..at least a lot of centuries before the judeo-espagnol speakers arrive. Although in some cases the second "covered" by lanfuage the Romaniotes, even today the jews of Southern and Western greece (besides Larissa), have greek as their mother tongue (unfortunately judeoespagnol is dying after the War). You can find some of them in Israel, the easier way to visit the village of..., I forgot its name, but it is in my notes. Songs of their culture (in Greek)you can find in the big diaspora museum in Tel Aviv. In many scientific or local magazines you can find a lot too. They even wrote greek with hebrew characters. Joseph Elija is a famous greek sreaking Jew poet born in janina.
