This site is designed to gather, and provide historical and current information on the Jews From Egypt, one of the most ancient established societies in the world. We will attempt to cover the period from Joseph Saadia el Fayoumi (Saadia Gaon) to the present day.
This organization shall be known as HISTORICAL SOCIETY OF JEWS FROM EGYPT, and not of Egypt or of Egyptian Jews, but FROM EGYPT for the purpose will be to include all our co-religionists whose lineage have sojourned in the Jewish Communities of Egypt.
The aims of this society are to preserve, maintain, coordinate the implementation, and to convey our rich heritage to our children and grand children's, using all educational means at our disposal to bring into being the necessary foundations.
We find it necessary to include in our Society numerous committees, among them archives, education, genealogy, publication, rabbinical, research, and social projects.
We call on everyone around the world to join us in this endeavor to achieve these goals. May we merit the benefits and rewards that will accrue.
The Historical Society of Jews From Egypt (HSJE) is designed to gather, and provide historical and current information on the Jews From Egypt, one of the most ancient established societies in the world. We will attempt to cover the period from Joseph Saadia el Fayoumi (Saadia Gaon) to the present day.
Documenting the history of the Jews From Egypt, requires the consideration of all its cultural countenance and aspects. These includes its institutions of education, arts, good will organizations, religious establishments, who's who, external and internal events leading to its atrophy and climaxing into a SECOND EXODUS, none should be overlooked.
This work is of an encyclopedic proportion and we need your active participation in this project so we can draw a balanced and legitimate account of this period.
We invite everyone to provide us with factual events, incidents, occurrences, family stories, affecting the Jews From Egypt so others may enhance their understanding and learn more of the Jews From Egypt.
We will make every effort to provide you with as much material, and information as possible pertaining to the Jews From Egypt.
We will add new material as it becomes available.
